Grades & Marking

The My Marks page in each subject gives both students and Learning Facilitators an overview of assessment results and feedback. Students can view grades, marking rubrics, and Turnitin Similarity Reports here. For Learning Facilitators, the same area provides access to the Markbook and SpeedGrader, where marks and feedback are entered, adjusted, and posted.

View Your Grades

Grades can be viewed in MyLearn through the My Marks page. Here, you can see your results, review feedback from your learning facilitator, add comments, and track your progress across all assessments in your subject. You can also approximate your assignment scores using the What-If Grades feature to see how you would do overall if you got certain marks.

► Why can’t I see my grade yet?

Grades may be hidden while marking is in progress. You’ll see them appear automatically once your Learning Facilitator posts the results for that assessment.

The Markbook

The Markbook provides a central view of all student grades in a subject. Learning Facilitators can sort, filter, add notes, and edit marks directly, open SpeedGrader for detailed feedback, and monitor which results have been posted or hidden from students.

Markbook Legend

Below is a legend you can refer to that explains what each of the statuses and labels in the Markbook mean:

View Student ID's

You can view Student ID's in the Markbook by:

Hovering your mouse over Student Name at the top of the first column
Click the 3 dots on the right-hand side of the cell, and select Secondary Info > SIS ID
The student's ID numbers will now show under their names in the Student Name column.

Accessing SpeedGrader

SpeedGrader can be opened directly from the Markbook or from within an individual assessment. Accessing it through the Markbook gives a full overview of student submissions across all assessments, while opening it from an assessment takes you straight to submissions only for that assessment task. Both options allow Learning Facilitators to move seamlessly between student submissions and begin marking.

Using SpeedGrader

SpeedGrader is the tool used to review submissions and grade / provide feedback. You can view each student’s file, add inline comments or annotations, and enter grades directly via the rubric. As part of providing feedback, you can also attach files or record media in your comments.

Marking via the Rubric in SpeedGrader

Each assessment in MyLearn includes an attached rubric that appears alongside the student’s submission in SpeedGrader. You can select the rating for each criterion, add comments where needed, and the score will be automatically totalled. Rubric feedback is saved and displayed to students along with their grade once results are published.

Marking Quizzes in SpeedGrader

Quiz submissions can also be reviewed through SpeedGrader to check auto-graded questions or manually mark written responses. From this view, you can adjust scores, add comments, and update overall marks before posting them to students. You can also mark one quiz question at a time if it is helpful. Posting the Grades

► Why can't students see their grades?

Marks and feedback stay hidden until you Post Grades from the Markbook. Look for the icon of an eye with a slash through it, this indicates feedback is still muted. Learn How to Post Grades.
